Member: Special Trustee's Advisory BoardEdward HollandAlthough Edward Holland has been retired for 30 years, his life is as active as his formal working days. An avid gardener, he is President of the Houston Camellia Society. He remains engaged in local politics. The founder of the Cherokee Cultural Society of Houston, he helps plan and participates in events of that organization. He also served as a board member of the First National Bank of Tahlequah. Mr. Holland retired when he sold BVR Corporation, the computer company he had formed. His company developed the first online real-time stock brokerage operating system, which managed everything that had to do with operating a brokerage firm. Shortly after retiring, he and a colleague purchased a Native American bank, the First State Bank of Hulbert. After a few years, they sold the bank, which operates today as the Bank of Cherokee County. Prior to forming his company, Mr. Holland was a principal in a regional brokerage firm. He started his career in public accounting. A graduate of Oklahoma State University, Mr. Holland earned a bachelor of art degree in management and accounting. Mr. Holland is a member of the Cherokee Nation. His father was an original enrollee.
