EPO welcomes 35th member state
The former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia will join the European Patent Organisation on 1 January 2009.

Benoît Battistelli to head the Administrative Council of the European Patent Organisation
Mr Battistelli is Director General of France's Institut national de la propriété industrielle and has served as Deputy Chairman of the EPO's Administrative Council since 2006.

The application, filed on 7 June 2007 by the Technical University of Denmark (DTU) in Lyngby, describes a microbial fuel cell which can be used to produce electricity from wastewater.
