BLM Now Recruiting for 2009 Fire Jobs

TWIN FALLS, ID — The Twin Falls District Bureau of Land Management is now recruiting young men and women to fill firefighting and support positions for the 2009 wildfire season. The BLM is looking for those who are interested in a challenge, have good work ethic and character and want to earn a good wage through the summer.

Applications are only accepted on-line from the beginning of December 2008 through January 31, 2009.  Those interested should visit www.usajobs.opm.gov

Positions will be filled in the suppression, prevention, fuels, aviation and dispatch programs. Applicants must be 18 years old by the first day of hire in late May, be a U.S. citizen and have a high school diploma or GED. BLM fire jobs offer excellent summer earnings, annual and sick leave benefits, and travel to other districts or states.

The BLM will be assisting interested applicants with the on-line application process at three Open House events, all to be held from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m.

· Tuesday, December 16, in Burley at 3630 Overland Avenue
· Wednesday, January 7, in Twin Falls at 2536 Kimberly Road
