Thursday, January 15, 2009 @ 4:30 PM EDT: Trademark Document Retrieval (TDR) “Office Action” Save Button is temporarily in Error. The "Save Button" on the Office Action Link does not save your Office Action at this time.

To Save Office Action, Please follow these steps:

1. Browse http://www.uspto.gov - you will be in USPTO Home Page

2. Once you are in USPTO Home Page, click “Trademarks” on the left hand menu, detail Trademarks menu will open.

3. Click on “View Full Files (TDR)” – this will take you to the TDR Home Page

4. Choose Serial Number or Registration Number from the drop down menu of the “Search Method” field (default is Serial Number). Then enter the Serial Number or Registration Number (if you have chosen Registration Number in the Search method Field) in the “Number “field.

5. Click “Submit” button – All the available documents for your serial number will be displayed

6. Double-Click your “Office Action”.

7. Once the “Office Action” displayed, click the “Save Button” at the right upper corner of the par to save it to your local computer.

Planned Events

1/14/2009 2:10 PM EST: USPTO’s Electronic of Information Action (EFOIA) and Interferences e-filing will be unavailable on Thursday, January 15, 2009, starting at 9:00 PM and ending at 11:59 PM due to system maintenance.

1/14/2009 2:10 PM EST: USPTO’s Enterprise Date Warehouse may experience intermittent outages on Tuesday, January 20, 2009, starting at 12:01 AM and ending at 2:00 AM due to system maintenance.

1/14/2009 2:10:PM EST: The Revenue Accounting and Management (RAM) system will be unavailable on Saturday, January 17, 2009, starting at 10:00 PM and ending on Sunday, January 18, 2009 at 5:00 AM due to system maintenance. In addition, the following systems will be impacted:

- Electronic Filing System Web (EFS-WEB) will be unable to process payments.

- Electronic Freedom of Information Action (EFOIA) will be unavailable.

- Electronic Patent Assignment System (EPAS) will be unable to process Patent Assignments. Customers can complete their submissions and temporarily save them on the USPTO server. Submissions will be held for approximately four calendar days. The saved submissions may then be retrieved at a later time for completing the fee payment and submittal process.

- Electronic Trademark Assignment System (ETAS) will be unable to process Trademark Assignments. Customers can complete their submissions and temporarily save them on the USPTO server. Submissions will be held for approximately four calendar days. The saved submissions may then be retrieved at a later time for completing the fee payment and submittal process.

- Electronic System for Trademark Trials and Appeals (ESTTA) will be unable to process Trademark Trial and Appeal Board matters requiring a fee payment, such as Notice of Opposition, Petition for Cancellation, and Motion to Amend Registration. However, ESTTA will be available for filing all other TTAB documents that do not require a fee payment.

- Order Entry Management System (OEMS) will be unable to process payments.

- Patent File Wrapper (PFW) will be unavailable.

- Trademark Electronic Application System (TEAS) for both domestic filings and filings under the Madrid Protocol will be unable to process payments.



1/12/2009 2:30 PM EST: USPTO’s Trademark Electronic Application System (TEAS) for both domestic filings and filings under the Madrid Protocol will be unavailable on Saturday, January 17, 2009 starting at 10:00 P.M. and ending at Sunday, January 18, 2009 at 5:00 AM due to system maintenance.

1/12/2009 2:15 PM EST: The following dates, January 19-20, 2009 are declared Federal holidays within the District of Columbia, under 35 U.S.C. 21(b) as January 19, 2009 is Martin Luther King’s birthday and January 20, 2009 is Inauguration Day.

Any action or fee due on January 17-20, 2009 is to be considered timely if the action is taken, or the fee paid, on the next succeeding business day (January 21, 2009) which is not a Saturday, Sunday, or a Federal holiday. See MPEP 710.05 for more information.

In addition, the Electronic Business Center (EBC) will be closed on January 19-20, 2009 and will re-open on Wednesday, January 21, 2008 from 6:00 a.m. to midnight. See EBC Closure page. EFS-Web will be available on January 19-20, 2009.
