Angel Graves (202) 245-2670 May 6, 1991 HHS Deputy Secretary Constance Horner today presented the department's Contractor of the Year Award to Trinh L. Ellsworth, president of Ellsworth Associates, a Falls Church, Va., software development firm. Mrs. Horner said the award was presented to Ellsworth Associates in recognition of the firm's outstanding performance as a small business contractor for HHS. Six other firms were honored also. Since 1987, Ellsworth Associates has provided Automatic Data Processing technical support services to the Office of Human Development Services, including computer center operations, technical and administrative support for the installation and operation of local area network and user support functions such as PC and applications training. The firm also provides programming and systems analysis support for administrative, financial and programmatic applications and telecommunications wiring including a fiber optic campus design and installation for the department. The ceremony took place during Small Business Week, proclaimed by President Bush as May 5-11. (More) - 2 - Richard Clinkscales, director, Office of Small and Disadvantaged Business Utilization, said more than 4,000 companies rendered contract services worth $837 million during FY'90 and made an outstanding contribution in assisting HHS to carry out its mission of providing health, welfare and social services to the nation's people. Mrs. Horner presented the department's Certificate of Excellence to six other small businesses which serve as departmental contractors. They are: The Circle, Inc., McLean Va., a logistical support and information management consultant firm.; COMOS Corp., Washington, D.C., a firm that provides research and information technology services; R.O.W. Sciences, Rockville, Md., a health records management consulting firm; Williams, Adley and Company, Oakland, Calif., a CPA and financial management consulting firm.; TASCON, Inc., Bethesda, Md., a health records management consulting firm; and Daniel Dennis and Company, Boston, Mass., a CPA firm. ###
