       Comprehensive information on state Medicaid programs is
available to the public for the first time through a three-volume
set of publications, Bruce C. Vladeck, administrator of the
Health Care Financing Administration, announced today.
       "These publications will serve information needs of
states, researchers and public interest groups," the
administrator said. "They will be especially useful to the states
for planning changes in their Medicaid programs and estimating
costs."
       The first two volumes provide information on
administration, eligibility rules, covered services and payment
policies in each state. The third provides statistics on Medicaid
expenditures and use of services by recipients.
       The publications may be purchased from the National
Technical Information Service, (703) 487-4650. The orders should
specify titles and NTIS order numbers.
       Medicaid spData Systems, Volume I, which provides state-
by-state comparisons, may be purchased for $39 and has an NTIS
order number of PB 92-222033.

       Medicaid spData Systems, Volume II, which profiles each
state program, sells for $74 with an order number of PB 93-
154987.

       Medicaid Statistics may be bought for $80 with an order
number of PB 93-140754.
