       President Clinton today announced the nomination of
another senior position at the Department of Health and Human
Services:

       Administrator, Health Care Financing Administration --
Bruce C. Vladeck, 43, of New York.  Since 1983, president of the
United Hospital Fund, New York.  Since 1986, member of the
Prospective Payment Assessment Commission.  Currently, member of
the New York State Council on Health Care Financing and the board
of directors of the New York City Health and Hospitals Corp. 
From 1979 to 1982, assistant commissioner, Division of Health
Planning and Resources Development, New Jersey State Department
of Health.  From 1974 to 1979, assistant to associate professor
of public health (health administration) and associate professor
of political science, Columbia University, New York.  BA, Harvard
College; MA and Ph.D., University of Michigan.
