The majority of our students come from cities, not farms and ranches. They have a variety of interests, from saving the environment to becoming lawyers and doctors, and go on to successful careers in areas such as natural resources and wildlife management, biotechnology, agricultural engineering, business and government, veterinary medicine, and food technology and nutritional sciences. The College has 14 departments and 26 undergraduate major fields of study. Master's and doctoral degrees are offered in each of the departments. With one of the largest enrollments of any college of agriculture in the nation, COALS also offers programs in entomology, rangeland ecology, horticulture, plant pathology, bioenvironmental sciences, biotechnology, floriculture, poultry science, forestry and agricultural journalism.
