Performing Accredited Work in Other States When a nationally accredited veterinarian seeks to do accredited work in another State, the following procedures must be followed: 1. Contact the Area Office of the State in which the accredited veterinarian wants to perform accredited work. The Area Office will send the candidate the "Summary Information Sheet for Nationally Accredited Veterinarians" to complete. 2. Complete the summary sheet and return it to the Area Office. The accredited veterinarian does not need to complete another application VS Form 1-36A. 3. The information sheet is reviewed and verified. The AVIC and State Animal Health Official may request the accredited veterinarian attend a State-specific supplemental orientation. 4. After the verification process in complete, an authorization letter will be sent to the accredited veterinarian authorizing him/her to perform accreditation work in that State. (No accreditation work may be performed until the accredited veterinarian receives the authorization letter.)
