Financial Management

The Financial Management organization at FNS Headquarters is responsible for:

Bullet

Preparing and defending the Agency's Congressional budget requests. 

Bullet Accounting for the funds allocated to FNS by Congress.
Bullet

Preparing financial reports and statements.

Bullet Managing the management decision and closure processes applicable to agency audits.
Bullet

Managing the reporting and record keeping processes for internal control activities as governed by the Federal Managers' Financial Integrity Act (FMFIA).

Bullet Producing regular reports of Food Program Operations and maintaining a National Data Bank of historical program information.
Bullet Awarding discretionary grant funds to successful applicants.
Bullet Developing and maintaining accounting policy and procedures applicable to all Agency food assistance programs.

The Financial Management organization at FNS Headquarters provides the following services:

Bullet

Processing and recording monetary transactions of the Agency.

Bullet Maintaining and supporting the users of our financial systems.
Bullet

Maintaining the historical data base of program information, i.e., the National Data Bank.

Bullet

Negotiating Accounts Receivable repayment.

Bullet Issuing retailer billings.
Bullet Maintaining these FM Internet communication pages intended for use by FNS' employees, partners and customers.
