Private Stewardship Grants
Grants for Private
Landowners
The
Private Stewardship Program provides assistance directly to landowners for managing their lands in ways that benefit species and their habitats.
It was begun in Fiscal Year* 2002 (with grants first awarded in Fiscal Year 2003)
and funded through the Land and Water Conservation Fund. Private landowners
may also be eligible for funding made available to states and territories
through the Cooperative Endangered Species Conservation Fund.
