About the Coalition

There are numerous food banks, community and faith-based groups, and other organizations nationwide who educate low-income people about SNAP benefits. FNS formed the coalition in 2003 to provide a forum to link and share information about these efforts.

The FSOC consists of:

1) Members

The members of the coalition are national groups interested in promoting the health and nutrition benefits of the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program. These organizations work to end hunger and improve nutrition at the national level and provide support to local outreach projects

Coalition meetings occur approximately twice per year, usually in the Washington, DC area. Minutes are available for all meetings.

For more information about the coalition or to join the members, please send an email to fsoc@fns.usda.gov.

Members of the FSOC include:

2) Partners

The partners of the coalition are local SNAP outreach organizations from across the country

To join the partners group listserv to keep up to date on SNAP outreach issues and available resources, send an email to fsoc@fns.usda.gov There are no membership fees or commitments.
