FY 2005 Allocation of the 15 Percent Exemptions for Able- Bodied Adults with Dependents (ABAWDS) Adjusted for FY 2004 Carryover

SUBJECT: FY 2005 Allocation of the 15 Percent Exemptions for Able- Bodied Adults with Dependents (ABAWDS) Adjusted for FY 2004 Carryover
TO: All Regional Directors
Food Stamp Program

In our Jan. 19, 2005 memorandum concerning the FY 2005 15 percent ABAWD exemptions, five states had not yet submitted their final FY 2004 FNS-583 reports. Therefore, Attachment B of that memorandum was incomplete. Subsequently, we received FY 2004 FNS-583 reports from California, Idaho, Montana, Nevada, and Oklahoma. This new information appears in BOLD in Attachment B.

Please remind your states that the FY 2005 adjusted case-month exemptions in Attachment B represents the carryover (i.e., cumulative) number of case-months available to a state. Attachment A of the January 19th memorandum contains the amount of 15 percent case month exemptions states are granted solely for FY 2005; the FY 2005 numbers are not cumulative.

Please contact Patricia Maggi at (703) 305-2468 if you have any questions.
