Overview
Agricultural trade multipliers provide estimates of employment
and/or output effects
of trade in farm and food products on the U.S. economy.
These effects, when expressed as multipliers, reflect
the amount of economic activity and/or jobs generated
by agricultural exports.
Users of this data system have two options through which
to display multipliers:
- As predefined ERS estimates for the most recent calendar
year available or
- As estimates generated by an interactive calculator
that enables users to select their own basket of exports
from the list of predefined estimates and/or apply a
new set of trade margins
to the commodity or basket of goods.

Users can create their own multipliers by selecting
their own basket of exports and/or changing some
of the margins
in the ERS estimates to reflect specific or new
information about producer value, transportation
costs, and wholesale and retail trade margins.
This application functions best in Internet Explorer
(version 6.0 or later). |
