Gabon:
- Garden researchers currently collect and bioprospect in areas
where little or no botanical work has been previously done.
- Significant support has been obtained for the National Herbarium of
Gabon in Libreville for improvement of the herbarium, coordination of
the Premier Atelier sur la Flore du Gabon and training of herbarium
staff in France and the United States.

- Download Madagascar Wildlife and Natural History Posters:
The posters listed below are available for free download, printing and display. Any other
use or sale must be approved by David Parks (drparks@stanford.edu).
If you have any problems downloading or printing these posters or if you have suggestions for
improvements, etc., contact David Parks. The posters are designed to be printed as 20x30 inch
vertical/portrait format.
- A resident botanist is stationed in the capital, Antananarivo.
- Garden scientists are computerizing information on the island nation's 10,000 to 12,000 species of vascular plants.
- A Red Data Book is in preparation to provide information on plants of special conservation importance.
- A multi-tiered botanical training program continues, with a network of local collectors working in parks and reserves.
- An inventory of mosses is underway.
