Divisions Missions

  • Architecture and Engineering Division (AE): Orchestrate & implement systems engineering of the National Security Space Enterprise

  • Business Management Division (BMD): Provide the enabling infrastructure that optimally functions in a manner transparent to the rest of the organization

  • Communications Functional Integration Office (Comm FIO): Advocate the functional area architecture. Maintain the functional area baseline. Identify necessary interoperability standards and protocols. Monitor acquisition activities of system providers and the activities of interfacing systems for synchronization. Collaborate with stakeholders.

  • Compliance Division (CO): Assure compliance with the Final Judgment of US District Court, District of Columbia, Case No 1:02CV024321 and assure compliance with the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) draft Consent Order, FTC, Washington D.C.

  • Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (ISR) Division: Create and sustain the Nation's integrated Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance architecture to provide a basis for informed decision-making across the National Security Enterprise.

  • National Security Space (NSS) Enablers Division (NE): Create synergy between professional development, the industrial base, academia, labs, the space science and technology sector, and government space stakeholders to enable National Security Space to better meet the needs of the nation.

  • Positioning, Navigation, and Timing (PNT) Division: Develop a national PNT architecture to help guide future PNT system-of-systems investment and implementation decisions. The objective is to provide more effective and efficient PNT capabilities in the post-2025 timeframe and an evolutionary path for government-provided PNT systems and services.

  • Space Control Division (SPC): Develop and maintain the "As Is" Space Control Architecture. Develop the "To Be" effects-based Space Control Architecture. Develop the "Should Be" affects-based Space Control Architecture. Be the subject matter Center of Excellence for the Space Control Mission area.

  • Policy and Strategy Division (XP): Develop, coordinate, and integrate NSS policies, strategies and plans. Assess programs across NSS, DoD, IC, civil, commercial, and international space. Manage the NSS Virtual Major Force Program. Facilitate DSABs/IPAs/POMs for roadblocks to achieving senior leadership priorities. Act as focal point for international space cooperation, DoD commercial space services, space control and special access program policies/strategies.
