Brookhaven National Laboratory (BNL) is a multi-disciplinary national research laboratory operated by Brookhaven Science Associates, LLC, (BSA) under a prime contract with the US Department of Energy (DOE). BNL is dedicated to basic and applied investigation in a multitude of scientific disciplines, including experimental and theoretical physics, nuclear medicine, chemistry, biology, materials science, energy research, environmental research and engineering.

The Office of  Research Administration (ORA) has the responsibility to provide support for the Human Subjects Research, the Credentialing Committee for all personnel working with human subjects, and the Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee (IACUC) for animal research.
