Post-Doctoral Fellows : NIDDK

Post-Doctoral Fellows

NIDDK supports postdoctoral fellows (MD, PhD, MD/PhD, or equivalent) via slots on an institutional training grant and/or through individual fellowships. Both are covered by the regulations of the National Research Service Awards (NRSA). If your doctoral degree was earned more than 3-4 years ago, consider the K-series of awards.

 Institutional training grants (T32s)

  • To inquire about support on a T32, contact the individual listed as Principal Investigator of the training grant at the institution where you wish to pursue postdoctoral training. If unavailable, consider an F32.

 Individual postdoctoral fellowships (F32s)

  • F32s are awarded to an institution in your name. You must have a mentor and a research project and submit an application for the deadline using the available forms and instructions.
