Healthy People 2010 Toolkit

The Toolkit provides guidance, technical tools, and resources to help states, territories, and tribes develop and promote successful state-specific Healthy People plans.

Healthy Vision 2010 Toolkit

The Toolkit contains the Community Action Guide, a Speaker's Guide, and Handbooks. The Community Action Guide includes a planning timeline, media materials, tips for involving your community, and more. It provides broad-based information for community leaders to make vision a health priority.

The Speaker's Guide contains presentations to engage and inform communities about eye health. PowerPoint and Acrobat versions of each presentation, along with speaker's notes, are included. Topics include injury and safety, eye disease, vision rehabilitation, and others.

Each Handbook focuses on a different Healthy Vision 2010 objective, and includes community-based activity suggestions, newspaper/newsletter articles, public service announcements, and brochures to copy and to hand out.

Healthy Vision 2010--A Companion Document to Healthy People 2010 Focus Area 28 Vision and Hearing (PDF)

This Companion Document is a supplement to the vision objectives in Healthy People 2010. It is intended to assist state and local agencies and others interested in promoting eye health in their communities. The Document presents the science surrounding the vision objectives to facilitate their translation into local eye health programs, activities, and health promotion campaigns.

Prevention Communication Research Database (PCRD)

A searchable collection of audience research conducted or sponsored by U.S. Department of Health and Human Service agencies. Not intended to be a comprehensive collection of prevention communication research, PCRD is designed to provide access to research findings that may not be widely known or distributed. PCRD contains reports on prevention, and therefore does not contain reports related to outcomes or process studies. For example, the topic of cancer prevention includes audience research reports on beliefs and attitudes about exposure to the sun, healthy eating, and screenings, but it does not include reports on cancer treatments.
