Health Law Research Faculty Provide Bench Book to State Judges
Texas judges and local health authorities are the recipients of a complimentary copy of Control Measures and Public Health Emergencies: A Texas Bench Book (2008). The book was prepared by the research faculty at the Health Law & Policy Institute with support from the Texas Department of State Health Services. The Bench Book contains not only summaries of various statutory provisions related to isolation, quarantine, and seizure of property in public health emergencies, but also quick reference flow charts outlining the procedural steps necessary to implement a control measure, and sample pleadings and orders.
