Deadline Extended. The National Crime Victim Law Institute, through a cooperative agreement with OVC, is soliciting proposals from nonprofit organizations and institutions of higher education to establish pro bono crime victim legal clinics that will provide direct legal services to crime victims in criminal courts.

OVC is offering funding opportunities for the following programs/activities:

Register now for the Fifth National Sexual Assault Response Team Training Conference on May 27–29, 2009, in Seattle, Washington. This OVC-funded event will feature 57 workshops, 5 keynote speakers, and an interactive improvisational closing performance. Scholarships are available!

Sign up now for the National Crime Victims Rights Week 2009 Resource Guide for tips and materials you need to host an NCVRW event in your community. The upcoming NCVRW will be held April 26–May 2, 2009.

Apply for the National Victim Assistance Academy to be held March 1–6, 2009, in Dallas/Fort Worth, TX. Continuing Education Units will be awarded to participants for completing the training and pre-Academy assignments.

January marks the 6th annual observance of National Stalking Awareness Month. OVC is joining DOJ's Office on Violence Against Women and the National Center for Victims of Crime Stalking Resource Center to raise awareness of this violent, often deadly crime affecting more than 1 million women and nearly 400,000 men annually.

Challenge your community to learn more and take action using the educational resources, media tools, and posters available off the new Stalking Awareness Web site. OVC also offers relevant publications and links to related organizations to assist stalking victims, service providers, and allied professionals.
