- University of Iceland: Institute of Earth Sciences
- The Institute of Earth Sciences was established in July 2004, when the Nordic Volcanological Institute and geology and geophysics sections of the Science Institute, University of Iceland merged. The Institute is dedicated to academic research and graduate studies within the Earth sciences, with a main focus on the unique geological features of the Iceland region.
- National Energy Authority of Iceland
- Government organization for the research and investigation of energy sources.
- Icelandic Meteorological Office
- Provides air, land, and sea weather services, as well as warnings about natural disasters related to meteorolgical events. The Physics Department operates 43 seismometers.
