Arbuckle - Simpson GIS Layers

UPDATED: 06/12/2003

This web page was created to provide existing digital data sets describing the Arbuckle Simpson aquifer and surrounding areas in Carter, Coal, Johnston, Murray, and Ponotoc Counties, in Oklahoma. The digital data are in a shapefile format that can be used to create maps for a multitude of purposes. A Geographic Information Systems software program is needed to use the shapefiles. Descriptions of the shapefiles and attribute code definitions are available in the associated metadata files.

Surficial Geology of Study Area

GIS Data are in ESRI Shapefile format. If you do not have a compatible GIS software, you can download a free viewer (Arc Explorer) from ESRI.

USGS Stream Gages

The records contain location, type, and period of record for 378 stations, but do not contain actual measurement values such as stream discharge or meteorological parameters. Both operating and discontinued stations are included in this data set.
