PRESERVING UTAH

Utah is a state of contrasts. Utah terrain stretches from alpine lakes to arid deserts. We are among the driest states yet we are one of the highest per capita users of water. We are the youngest state in terms of average age with some of the fastest growing retirement communities. Utah is most remembered for its canyon and red rocks but about 30 percent (16 million acres) of Utah is forestland. Nearly 65 percent of Utah is public lands. Utah State University Extension helps Utahns manage and share these diverse resources so they will be available for future generations.
