Trade Mission to East Africa, February 2007

"The United States strongly believes that the key to Africa’s economic growth and development is an open trading system in which all governments operate
transparently and govern by the rule of law."

Mike Yost, Administrator, Foreign Agricultural Service

FAS Administrator Mike Yost led a trade and investment mission to Nairobi, Kenya, Feb. 19-23, 2007. The purpose of the mission was to explore two-way trade and investment opportunities between U.S. and East African agribusinesses.  Fifteen U.S. companies were part of the mission to learn about the East Africa region, its business climate, and how U.S. Government and Kenyan programs can support their efforts.  These U.S. companies met with more than 50 East African agribusiness representatives to build business relationships.
