  Federal Grants

My office receives numerous requests to research grants for many worthy projects, and I want to thank you for your interest in bettering our community. Your interest in your neighbors and your neighborhood is what has made Ventura and Santa Barbara Counties wonderful places to live and work.

However, because of the number of requests, and the limited resources of my office, we cannot research grant opportunities. But I can provide you with a number of available House of Representatives resources to help you research and obtain grants.

• Grants.gov allows organizations to electronically find and apply for more than $400 billion in Federal grants. Grants.gov is the single access point for more than 1,000 grant programs offered by all Federal grant-making agencies.
• The Federal Funding Report is available at: http://www.house.gov/ffr/federal_funding_reports.shtml. The Federal Funding Report is a weekly compilation of items published in the Federal Register that affect Federal Domestic Assistance Programs. Included in the Federal Funding Report is the Early Warning Grants Report, a list of programs for which applications are being solicited and that have been mentioned in Federal Register in recent weeks, listed in order of expiration date.
• In addition, Federal Funds Expre$$ lists grant alerts, assistance with grants and other grant information and is available at: http://www.house.gov/ffr/resources_all.shtml. Topics include “Where to Find Federal Grants,” “How to Apply for Grants,” and “Help with Managing the Grant Process.” This site will also be of interest to parents and students seeking money for college.
