General Information

The IDNR-Division of Reclamation provides many outreach and educational opportunities. Information is founded in non-biased, factual science and technology concerning coal mining and reclamation, energy, and the environment.

Several different resource options are available for anyone interested in coal mining and land restoration. Included are e-links, conference postings, technical proceedings, downloads and contact information. We offer lesson plans for teachers, posters for viewing and printing, brochures, and other resources.

Division staff supports an annual Mineral Workshop for Educators; Earth Day; Indiana State Fair exhibit; Prime Farmland Field Day; and other special events targeting environmental stewardship. We have citizen guides for reference and can even provide the occasional on-site speaker for special occasions.
