2008 Conference
A two-day conference, "Partnerships in Innovation II: From Vision to Reality and Beyond" was held on October 7- 8, 2008 in College Park, Maryland, USA. It was jointly sponsored by the University of Maryland and the National Archives and Records Administration (NARA).
This significant conference focused on the leadership and coordination of these two institutions to address the challenges of electronic records, highlighting key partnerships and projects established to draw upon the innovative minds in universities, government agencies, and the private sector. Attendance was very high, attracting interest from archival, records management, and information technology professionals and practitioners from around the world.
The two day conference featured panel presentations on topics such the release of NARA's Electronic Records Archives System, Standards and Policies for Trusted Digital Repositories, Institutional Repositories: Lessons Learned, Partnerships in Research, Tools and Technologies, and DataNet: A Digital Preservation Network for the Future.
