Environmental Resource Program (ERP) Permits are processed through the
FDEP
District Offices, Water
Management Districts and
delegated local governments.
Some activities are exempt. Please contact your local office for
information on permit requirements for your specific project or
location.
Do I need a permit?
The Office of Submerged Lands and Environmental Resources provides
several services to the public.

Mitigation provides the option of offsetting wetland
impacts by restoring, enhancing, or preserving comparable habitats in
an area impacted by development.

Mangrove Trimming and Alteration:
- Interpreting and providing guidance on the statutory language
- providing oversight of local governments which have been
delegated to implement the program
- reviewing applications from persons who wish to be designated as
professional mangrove trimmers

Florida Wetland Restoration Information
Center
- The framework for a statewide ecological restoration program for
wetlands and their associated uplands using ecosystem management and
ecological principles.

Wetland Evaluation and Delineation Section
(WEDS)
- Sets official wetland boundaries
- provides training in wetland boundaries and classification
- ensures the consistent
use of the state's Wetland Delineation Methodology
(Chapter 62-340, F.A.C.)
