NRCS celebrated American Wetlands Month at a national celebration, an awards ceremony, and media conference at the Corpus Christi Botanical Gardens & Nature Center (CCBG/NC) to recognize the success of the Gardens & Nature Center’s $90,000 “Wetland Water Containment, Restoration and Boardwalk Project,” which has fostered ongoing environmental, education, and economic benefits. Chief Bruce Knight was the keynote speaker highlighting the importance of protecting our Nation’s wetlands as well as the wetland enhancement projects completed along Oso Creek “I’m especially proud of this project because it represents the best in cooperative conservation --multiple groups working together to restore valuable wetlands here in the Oso Creek ecosystem.” said Knight.
