Celebrate Public Service Recognition Week

Public Service Recognition Week 2005 logo.NRCS will help to celebrate the 20th annual Public Service Recognition Week activities to be held on the National Mall, May 5-8. The event, cosponsored by Public Employees Roundtable and the President’s Interagency Council on Administrative Management, will begin at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, May 5 and end on Saturday at 4:00 p.m. Only Military exhibits will be open on Sunday, May 8. Some 60 government agencies, non-profit organizations, and private companies will exhibit and celebrate the innovation and quality of work performed by public employees.

Public Service Recognition Week, celebrated the first Monday through Sunday in May since 1985, is a time set aside each year to honor the men and women who serve America as Federal, State, and local government employees. Throughout the Nation and around the world, public employees use the week to educate citizens about the many ways in which government serves the people and how government services make life better for all of us.
