Overview

The National Institute of Diabetes and Digestive and Kidney Diseases (NIDDK) established The Genomics Core Laboratory in Jan 2003 to meet the demands of Principal Investigators (P.I.s) for genome-wide expression analysis. Our goal is to help P.I.s apply innovative technologies to their experimental problems by assisting with experimental design and sample preparation to ensure high quality data is generated for subsequent analysis.

The Genomics Core Facility offers a wide variety of sample handling and preparation operations for Affymetrix GeneChip arrays and Illumina high throughput parallel sequencing.  All samples received have minimum requirements and are taken through the Sample Handling pipeline that includes sample quantification and QC checks. We provide all users with basic statistical and bioinformatic data analysis.  Additional bioinformatic support, on a collaborative basis, is also available to extend the analysis, such as building gene regulation networks, gene pathway and gene ontology analysis, transcription binding and gene promoter analysis, data mining, etc..
