National Commission on Digestive Diseases - PUBLIC COMMENT PERIOD CLOSED ON "Opportunities and Challenges in Digestive Diseases Research: Recommendations of the National Commission on Digestive Diseases"

  • To ensure that the National Commission on Digestive Diseases’ long-range research plan for digestive diseases, entitled Opportunities and Challenges in Digestive Diseases Research: Recommendations of the National Commission on Digestive Diseases, reflects the research priorities of the entire digestive diseases research community, the Commission has invited comments from a wide variety of stakeholders. This included the solicitation of nominations for membership to the Commission and to the topic-specific Working Groups, and the public posting of draft research goals presented at the Commission’s open meetings in June and November 2007. In addition, a public comment period on the draft long-range research plan for digestive diseases was held from February 8, 2008 through March 8, 2008.
  • The period for public comments is now closed. The Commission greatly appreciates all the input it has received during this comment period and throughout all key phases of its work.
  • The Commission is currently reviewing the comments received and making final revisions to the research plan. The final version of Opportunities and Challenges in Digestive Diseases Research: Recommendations of the National Commission on Digestive Diseases is expected to be available on this website and in hard copy in late summer or early fall 2008. Until the final version is available, a draft version of the Commission’s long-range research plan for digestive diseases will remain available below.
