Description:

The ETS Test Locator is a project that is jointly supported by ERIC Clearinghouse on Assessment and Evaluation, the Educational Testing Service, Buros Institute, University of Nebraska in Lincoln, Region III Comprehensive Center at George Washington University, and Pro-Ed test publishers. There are three searchable databases available. The first database contains descriptions of tests in the ETS Tests in Microfiche Collection, the Education Resources Information Center (ERIC) Document Reproduction Service, tests described in journal articles or book chapters, and commercially available tests created or verified after 1989. The second database contains citations of test reviews that can be found in the Buros Mental Measurement Yearbooks and in the Pro-Ed directories. The last database is a test publisher directory that contains over 900 records that provide names and addresses.

Types of Information or Instruments:

Test name, author, abstract, contact information, publication year, and ETS tracking number.

Quantity of Instruments:

The database contains descriptions and references to more than 10,000 tests.

Quality of Instrument Descriptions:

The references only provide a brief description about the test and how to obtain an instrument.

Quality of Psychometric Information:

There is essentially no psychometric information on the test locator site, however, there are citations to test reviews, which often contain psychometric information.

Scale accessibility:

Scales may be obtained in a variety of ways by following the references and links.

Site provides actual scale items:

The site does not have any actual scale items.
