USDA researchers have found that organic practices in pecan orchards result in higher yields, greater profits, and better flavor. In 2002, researchers at the Agricultural Research Service in Weslaco, Texas, began using organic methods on about half of a 27-year-old, 40-acre commercial pecan orchard.
