Other Critters

While we are all about the Birds at The Oasis Sanctuary, there are frequently other critters that play a part in our daily lives on-site. These are stories of a few such "other critters" who touch, or have touched our lives in some important way. Several of the dogs on The Oasis property actually have a very important job. The remain in the field during the nighttime hours to keep unwanted visitors from bothering or harming the birds. they work very hard and are an invaluable part of our Oasis family.

As you know, The Oasis Sanctuary is located in an extraordinarily rural and remote location. We are surrounded by state and federal lands which stretch for hundreds of miles around us. And it is an area to which people bring their unwanted animals. A "dumping ground." We try to catch the cats and dogs that we see before a predator can get them. We take in, make them healthy, and try to find them a new home. If you are in Arizona, and are looking for a wonderful cat or dog to add to your menagerie, please call us! We send you an application and will do a home inspection. If you are out of state and wish to adopt a dog or cat from us, please call me at 520-212-4737…let’s talk. We may be able to accommodate you if you can send us a DVD/video and references from your Vet etc and can come out here to hand-carry the animal back with you. All of these animals are spay/neutered and up to date on shots.
