Event
Agricultural Policy in Transition: What Next?
14 January 2009
15:00 – 17:00 p.m.
Polak Room, International Press Centre, Residence Palace, Rue de la Loi 155, Brussels
The University of Missouri is pleased to invite you to a conference on the future of transatlantic agricultural policy. This dialogue occurs at a time of extreme volatility and complexity. 2009 will witness a change of administration in Washington DC and a new European Commission and Parliament in Brussels. The EU is also engaged in the CAP health check and budget review deliberations.
Roller coaster food and oil prices, a heated debate about biofuels and the global economic crisis are all having a direct impact on agricultural policy and markets on both sides of the Atlantic. Since the only certainty is that things will not be the same as before, this conference will provide a timely opportunity to ask how agricultural policy priorities may change in Europe and America.
