On September 16, Refuge Manager, Michael Brady gave a presentation on the horseshoe crab to a group of children from the Cape Cod Home Schoolers.  The children asked questions and learned facts about this 150 million year old creature, as well as the important role it plays for shorebird conservation and the mudflat ecosystem.  The children touched a live crab and hiked along the refuge trail on Morris Island.  They promised to come back in the spring to assist refuge staff in horseshoe crab tagging.
