Fish and Wildlife Biologist Nick Rowse, Twin Cities Field Office, assisted staff from the Minnesota Valley National Wildlife Refuge on June 14 in putting on the Minnesota Bioblitz at the Rapids Lake Education and Visitor Center.  He staffed a display table with native mussel specimens and answered many questions about native mussels, both extant and extirpated from the Minnesota River.  Unfortunately, high water levels in the Minnesota River prevented collecting mussels from the Minnesota River at this time.
