AESO biologist Shaula Hedwall conducted training on Mexican Spotted Owl Survey Protocol for 24 natural resource staff of the Hopi Tribe, Navajo Nation, Bureau of Indian Affairs, and National Park Service on  March 25 and 26, 2008 at Canyon de Chelly National Monument, on the Navajo Nation. The training involved a classroom component, night-time calling, and a morning follow-up field outing.  Providing technical and logistical support were: David Mikesic, Navajo Fish and Wildlife; Arthur Benally, National Park Service; and John Nystedt, Arizona Ecological Services.
