Journal Entry   Back Service participates in Texas Wildlife Diversity Conference Southwest Region, January 19, 2008 Print Friendly Version Several biologists from the Service attended the Texas Wildlife Diversity Conference (Texas Wildlife Action Plan – Focus on Partnerships and Implementation) held in Houston, Texas, from January 17-19, 2008.   The Conference was sponsored by the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department and the Houston Zoo.  In attendance were approximately 250 people from the various conservation agencies and organizations in Texas.  The Partners for Fish and Wildlife (PFW) program State Coordinator for Texas made a presentation entitled “USFWS: National Strategic Plan for the PFW Program.”  Although the development of the Strategic Plan was discussed, the focus of the presentation was on the need for additional partnerships (formal and informal) to be formed if the Service is going to reach many of the goals outlined in the Strategic Plan.
