On November 13, 2007, Cyndee Watson of the Austin ESFO, attended a meeting with the Texas Environmental Education Partnership (TEEP). At this meeting the TEEP unveiled their Master Plan at the Texas State Capitol and requested the Service's support to achieve the goals in the Master Plan. The TEEP is a coalition of businesses, industry, academia, school teachers, citizens and governmental agencies that are building a partnership to establish a framework for environmental education in Texas. On November 14, 2007, Ms Watson attended a Children in Nature meeting at the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department (TPWD). By attending these meetings, Ms. Watson was able to connect the TEEP with the TPWD Children in Nature groups. Hopefully by working together these groups will provide more opportunities for children to learn about the environment and to get outdoors.
