On Saturday, September 15, 2007, Jason Roesner and Jeff Reid of the East Texas Sub-office assisted the National Wild Turkey Federation with their Annual Texas State Juniors Acquiring Knowledge, Ethics and Sportsmanship (JAKES) Event.  Approximately 200 participants attended this year’s JAKES Event.  The event was held for all boys and girls under age seventeen.  Children were exposed to many different activities from fishing and shooting a shotgun to radio tracking as well as treated to door prizes, free hot dogs, cokes, and ice cream.  The event was a great success and many children were exposed to hunting and the outdoors.
