The Northwoods Stewardship Center, in partnership with the Silvio O. Conte National Fish and Wildlife Refuge's  Nulhegan Basin Division and the Vermont Fish and Wildlife Department hosted a fantastic youth fishing event with over 50 people in attendance.

Kids of all ages came out for a great day of food, fun, educational activities, and best of all FISHING! Vermont Fish and Wildlife always lends a hand for the event and Vermont game warden Mark Schichtle gave an outstanding presentation on the laws and regulations of fishing in Vermont. After a day of fun and fishing, every child went home with a fishing pole or tackle box in their hand and a smile on their face. "If we can get just one child hooked on fishing, the event was a success. We wouldn't be able to host these events if it wasn't for the help of the Center's staff and the use of their facilities. We appreciate that very much." commented Holly T. Gaboriault, Conte Refuge biologist.
