Briggs/USFWS/27Apr2007/Rock Hall, MD/Volunteer of the Year 2006 Leann Miller and Retired Refuge Manager, Marty Kaehny

Eastern Neck National Wildlife Refuge staff honored deserving volunteers at a volunteer appreciation pot-luck dinner at the American Legion in Rock Hall, Md. Volunteers contributed approximately 9000 hours of service in 2006. Recently-retired refuge manager Marty Kaehny presented the Volunteer of the Year Award to Leann Miller who contributed 720 hours in 2006.  With recent reduction of staff at the refuge, the remaining refuge staff deeply appreciate the enthusiastic and invaluable assistance of the volunteers in the refuge public use, biological and maintenance programs.
