Oklahoma Partners For Fish and Widlife Programs Participates in Oklahoma Association of Conservation Districts Annual Conference
Southwest Region, February 25, 2007
Print Friendly Version

Location:        Oklahoma City, Oklahoma

Dates:             February 25 and 26, 2007

Purpose:         To attend the meeting and share information regarding the FWS Partners for Fish and Wildlife program, ecological services information, and discuss other wildlife issues with the conference participants.

Results/Accomplishments:

An informational booth was prepared and set up for the meeting with facts regarding the Partners for Fish and Wildlife Program.  Fish and wildlife personnel made contact throughout the two day event and shared information with the participants who attended the conference.  A short presentation was given in a breakout session regarding the recent Partnerships in conservation in Oklahoma that the FWS Service was involved with along with other information about the Partners program. The participants who attend the meeting are very important to the FWS Service and the Partners program.  The Conservation District personnel, the Natural Resources Conservation Service, and the District Board members are working with landowners across Oklahoma on a day to day basis sharing information on conservation issues.  We feel like it is important for the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service to participate in the event and work with our Partner’s in conservation for the benefit of Oklahoma landowners and wildlife species across the state.

Meeting Attendees:

Jontie Aldrich, Partners Coordinator, Terry Dupree, Partners Wildlife Biologist, John Hendrix, Partners Wildlife Biologist, Natural Resources Conservation Service personnel from across the state, Conservation District personnel and Board Members from 88 district offices, and some state government personnel.
