Moosehorn National Wildlife Refuge Begins Meeting with Local Cities and Towns on Refuge Issues
Northeast Region, January 30, 2007
Print Friendly Version

Moosehorn National Wildlife Refuge Manager Bill Kolodnicki met both with the Selectmen of Charlotte Maine and the City Counsel of Calais Maine at separate meetings during the week of January 21.  Manager Kolodnicki spoke about revenue sharing, the upcoming Comprehensive Conservation Plan (CCP) for Moosehorn and work force planning in the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service.

Representatives were encouraged to write the refuge regarding any concerns and were personally invited to the upcoming March 3, CCP meeting.

Municipalities voiced concern about the small amounts of revenue sharing they were receiving and about services that may be eliminated due to workforce planning.  Generally the information was well received and the municipalities complimented refuge staff  for their continued professionalism.
