Coastal Impact Assessment Program
Southwest Region, September 15, 2006
Print Friendly Version

Several staff members of the Corpus Christi Ecological Services Field Office, in conjunction with the Service’s Whooping Crane Coordinator (from Aransas NWR), assisted The Nature Conservancy of Texas (TNC) with preparation of a Coastal Impact Assessment grant application to be submitted to the Texas General Land Office.  If TNC secures this grant, it will be used to purchase land (via conservation easements or fee title) in proximity to Aransas NWR in order to provide additional habitat for a future expanding whooping crane population.
