Quick Response Research Projects funded in FY 2007

Each year the Central Regional Office of the USGS Biological Resources Division provides $50,000 to Region 3 to address Regional research and information needs. The following projects have been recommended by the Regional Research Committee for funding in FY 2007:

TITLE: Evaluation of the toxicity of BioBullets and BioBullet degradation products to zebra mussels and unionid mussels in standard bioassay tests. FWS PROJECT OFFICER: Doug Aloisi, Genoa National Fish Hatchery, Genoa, Wisconsin.

TITLE: Evaluating the effects of roadside bias in monitoring marshbird populations in the prairie pothole region. FWS PROJECT OFFICER: Diane Granfors, HAPET Office, Fergus Falls, Minnesota.

TITLE: Mapping patterns of golden-winged warbler abundance in the core of its range. FWS PROJECT OFFICER: Tom Will, Division of Migratory Birds, Regional Office.

TITLE: Comparison of the effectiveness of moist air incubators to Heath incubators in the culture of lake trout eggs. FWS PROJECT OFFICER: Dale Bast, Iron River National Fish Hatchery, Iron River, Wisconsin.
