David Weaver, 08/19/2006, John Phillips spreading Japanese millet in Horseshoe Lake Slough.

On August 19, 2006, ROS Weaver and 5 volunteers planted 250 pounds of Japanese millet along the exposed mudflats of numerous sloughs and wetlands throughout the Little River National Wildlife Refuge.  The plantings will improve habitat conditions for migrating and wintering waterfowl using the refuge this winter.  John Phillips, from the Oklahoma Waterfowlers Association, provided the Japanese millet seed and assisted with the planting.
